Autism and Empathy Guest Post!

I am so honored and thrilled to have my post Who Really Lacks Empathy on the site Autism and Empathy.  Even if you have read this piece on my blog before I would still encourage you to go check out the whole website Autism and Empathy.

Autism and Empathy is a collection of posts from parents and autistics about the topic of Empathy and Autism. The site also has many resources if you would like to read the scientific articles published on autism and empathy. Rachel Cohen-Rottenberg edits and publishes the site and she also writes amazing posts on her blog Journeys With Autism. I highly recommend both of these sites.

Have a great day!!  Off to work now and to buy another Beanie Ballz!

  1. I love, love, love this sentence: “…put an autistic in a room and ask neurotypicals what emotion he or she is expressing, and they won’t be able to tell you either.”

What a wonderful reminder that empathy and understanding go both ways. It is ridiculous to accuse someone of lacking empathy if you really mean, “this person won’t conform to my standards.” Thank you for sharing your guest post.
